Easter Promenade: 11 a.m., March 26, Four Corners of Law, Charleston. The Hat Ladies will stroll along Broad Street to Washington Park decked out in their best Easter hats to wish folks a “HaTpy Easter” in this 15th annual event. Hope on Goat oyster roast: 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., March 26, Goat Island Gatherings, Channel Marker 116 on the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway just north of the Isle of Palms Marina. One hundred percent of the ticket sales and silent auction proceeds from this year’s event will go to mentoring programs of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Carolina Youth Development Center. “A Sudden Spontaneous Event:” Performances through March 26, with shows at 7:30 p.m. Performances of the play by PURE Theatre playwright-in-residence David Lee Nelson will be at PURE Theatre, 447 King Street, Charleston. Tickets: http://www.PURETheatre.org.

Lowcountry Cajun Festival: Noon to 6 p.m., April 3, James Island County Park. On top of great Creole and Cajun food at the annual festival will be non-stop Zydeco and Cajun music performed by various artists, including the renowned Buckwheat Zydeco. Cost is $15.   More info.

(NEW) Wine Down Wednesday: 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., April 6, Old Towne Creek County Park, West Ashley. Enjoy this future park off Old Towne Road with a wine social that features live music from Chris Dodson. Tickets are $15 in advance; $20 on day of admission. More info.

(NEW) Charleston Outdoor Festival: April 15-17, James Island County Park. The 26th annual festival celebrates paddlesports and outdoor recreation. This year, the event will host the Polynesian Voyaging Society and crew members from the legendary Hōkūleʻa, a breathtaking double-hulled Polynesian voyaging canoe will be in Charleston as part of its ongoing worldwide voyage. Some of the ship’s crew will speak 8 p.m. April 16 at Edisto Hall during the festival. More: CharlestonCountyParks.com.

Gibbes Museum to reopen: May 28. After being shut for months, the art museum on Meeting Street in Charleston will reopen to showcase a $13.5 million renovation expected to improve experiences by visitors. More.

Bird walks: 8:30 a.m. to noon, every Wednesday and Saturday. This is the time of year that a great variety of migrating birds fly through the Lowcountry so what better time to take part in one of the regular early morning bird walks at Caw Caw Interpretive Center in Ravenel. Pre-registration is suggested. Cost is $10. Walks also are conducted on James Island and Folly Beach. Learn more online.
