If you drive around and look around in non-historic areas, you’re likely to stumble upon a mural as Charleston seems to be getting more and more of them (witness the recent fracas in Mount Pleasant over a painting on the wall outside Moe’s).  A great place to find colorful murals is in an alleyway behind Avondale shops on Savannah Highway between Daniel and Nicholson streets.  Not only is there a great black-and-white painting of Bill Murray from 2015, but the chART initiative has all sorts of wall art from realistic birds to whimsical animals.  You can check some of this out online on Facebook.
