MYSTERY: The stacks come tumbling down

This week’s Mystery Photo is located somewhere in South Carolina, but not in Charleston County. It’s related to a recent event in the news. What and where is it? Third correct guess gets a pair of tickets to Magnolia Plantation and Gardens, just in time to see gazillions of beautiful flowers. Send your best guess to: editor@charlestoncurrents.com — and make sure to include the name of the town in which you live.

16.0201.mysteryBoy, did the last mystery picture by contributing editor Michael Kaynard prove to be a stumper. We got guesses of that he snapped a photo of the pelican under the James Edwards bridge over the Wando River, Buzzard’s Roost Bridge between James and Johns islands, underneath the Mount Pleasant waterfront park pier, underneath Interstate 26 in Charleston,

Only Stephen Yetman of Charleston got it right — “the underbelly of the Northbridge” over the Ashley River between West Ashley and North Charleston. Kaynard drove through the new park and spied the bird standing in front of bridge supports that have a neat architectural symmetry. Great shot, Michael. Great guess, Stephen, who won a pair of tickets to Magnolia Plantation and Gardens.
