Our previous Mystery Photo:We had lots of great guesses for our Jan. 6 mystery, “Tunnel of trees.  Guesses ranged from somewhere on Hilton Head Island or Edisto Island to River Road in Charleston County.  But the tunnel was on Mary Murray Drive at Hampton Park adjacent to The Citadel. The camera can be deceiving!

Contributing photographer Michael Kaynard took an annual trip to Hampton Park over the weekend to photograph magnolias in all of their glory. He writes, “Magnolias vary a great deal. Some are beautiful when they first bloom and others when they are near their end. They are all beautiful in their own way. I think there is a parallel that can be drawn regarding people. Embrace the beauty in all of us, no matter how different we are.”

Don’t you just love this pig-themed watering can? Contributing photographer Michael Kaynard spied it in a recent walk around Hampton Park Terrace in Charleston. The neighborhood, which abuts historic Hampton Park, includes 303 historic homes that are about 100 years old. Most of the homes in the neighborhood of 1,000 people were built between 1914 and 1922.
