MYSTERY: This old house

Australian photojournalist Bill Hawker snapped a shot earlier this year of this old house.  Where is it?  Send your best guess to:  editor@charlestoncurrents.com — and make sure to include the name of the town in which you live.

In the last issue, we showcased a tranquil vista offered by contributing photographer Michael Kaynard.  As explained by George Graf of Palmyra, Va., it is Allan Park on Ashley Avenue near in the Hampton Park Terrace neighborhood:    “Allan Park is one of the smallest in the City of Charleston on land donated by Mrs. Amey Allan.  Many times over the years, the park and fountain suffered severely from the lack of care.  The neighborhood association for Hampton Park Terrace undertook raising money for a refurbishing of Allan Park, and the work was performed over three days in May 2012 by more than 50 volunteers.”  Others who guessed correctly were Chris Books of Mount Pleasant; and Stephen Yetman and Debbie Marlow, both of Charleston.
