Talk about a lot of reading on one school day — The 33 students in Lynn Newman’s elementary class at Charles Towne Montessori read 15,279 pages in a one-day fundraiser to benefit the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center.  All of their reading netted more than $6,400 to help “America’s heroes.”  Pictured on the front row are Scott Isaacks, director of the medical center, and students Ben Flessas, Margeaux Burkhardt and Braden Vick, and parent Deena Flessas as classmates look on during a big check presentation Friday.
