Intrepid photo sleuth George Graf of Palmyra, Va., sent this issue’s mystery and it is sure to befuddle the cagiest of photo puzzlers. Hints: It’s in Europe and it might not be a church. Send your best guess to: editor@charlestoncurrents.com — and make sure to include the name of the town in which you live.
Graf discovered the reason for the locked gate of last week’s mystery, a set of new tennis courts at James Island Elementary School on Grimball Road. The $218,000 courts and sidewalk are part of a deal with the county library system for it to use some adjacent land to build a new branch library. The gate was locked because the final inspection or sign-off hadn’t been approved.
Others who got the location were Stephen Yetman of Charleston and Chris Brooks of Mount Pleasant.
