Here’s a turret spotted through live oak trees somewhere in the American South. Send your best guess to: editor@charlestoncurrents.com — and make sure to include the name of the town in which you live.
Last week’s mystery, “Two Triangles,” was tough. Steve Skardon of Mount Pleasant got it right — it’s a skyward shot of the modern East Wing of the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. Hats off also to George Graf of Palmyra, Va., who wrote, “Originally designed by I.M. Pei, the East Building displays the gallery’s modern art collection. After being closed for three years for renovations, the gallery has reopened and now includes an outdoor roof sculpture terrace that overlooks Pennsylvania Avenue and two new indoor tower galleries flanking the terrace. The new space increased the displayed collection to 500 works, an increase from 350 works.”
