After a tough mystery photo last week, we thought it was time to give a break to intrepid photo detectives. Where’s this building and why is it blue? Send your best guess of contributing photographer Michael Kaynard’s image to: editor@charlestoncurrents.com — and make sure to include the name of the town in which you live.
In the last issue, we showed a photo of Charleston’s first bookmobile, circa 1932 or so. Reader George Graf of Palmyra, Va., discovered that the original bookmobile was purchased in 1931and the little white dog belonged to an extension librarian at the time. Mattese Lecque of North Charleston shared that the bookmobile used to travel to parts of the county with ho access to a library, just as a modern version does today.
