This mystery might be a little tough. It’s a stair rail somewhere in downtown Charleston. Captured by photographer Michael Kaynard, note how the light dances on the wall behind the intricate iron rail. Nice job, Michael. Send your best guess to: editor@charlestoncurrents.com — and make sure to include the name of the town in which you live. First person to guess the name of the street where you can find the rail gets a pair of passes to this week’s underwriter, Magnolia Plantation and Gardens.
On last week’s mystery of a person catching some rays on a wall with a river in the background, no one should be surprised that veteran photo detective Chris Brooks of Mount Pleasant correctly guessed it was taken at the Harborage marina on the Ashley River off Lockwood Boulevard in Charleston. Others who correctly identified the photo were Jane Riley-Gambrell, Paul Wieters and John Bleecker, all of Charleston; and Legare Clement of Johns Island.
