If you’ve been driving around the Charleston peninsula over the last couple of years, you might have noticed this in a public, but kind of off-the-beaten-track location. Where is this photo taken by contributing editor Michael Kaynard? Second correct guess gets a pair of tickets to Magnolia Plantation and Gardens. Send your guess — and the name of the town you live in — to editor@charlestoncurrents.com.
We made last week’s search a little easier for you by leaving in the name of the road where the “Airplane on a stick” photo was taken by contributing photographer Michael Kaynard. Chris Murphy of James Island was first to correctly guess the “Airplane on a Stick,” located on Bull Swamp Road near St. Matthews, S.C. “I drove by there many times on my way to Atlanta taking back roads from Interstate 26 to I-20. There is a private airstrip very close.
Others who identified the photo: Joey Durant of Hemingway; Marnie Huger, Richmond, Va.; Sara Dwyer, James Island; Charles Boyd, Hanahan; Fraser Benzal, Naples, Fla.; Mark Madden, Ravenel; Ryan Wright, Mount Pleasant; Veronica Gleason, Summerville; and Harriett Grady, Charleston.
