The only hint about this week’s mystery by contributing photographer Michael Kaynard is that is somewhere on the Charleston peninsula.  Recognize it?  Send your best guess of where it is to:  editor@charlestoncurrents.com — and make sure to include the name of the town in which you live.

16.0829.mysteryIn the last issue, several readers correctly identified the blue oval as the ceiling of the new performance center in the renovated Gailliard Auditorium in Charleston.  Thanks to James Island resident Fred Sales for the great picture.

James Island resident Archie Burkel said the photo wasn’t really a mystery for her as she recognized the ceiling and the palmetto ironwork in the background.  Others who recognized it were Jo Anne V. Simson, Ruth Jordan and Stephen Yetman, all of Charleston, Chris Brooks of Mount Pleasant, Bud Ferillo of Columbia, Carol Ann Smalley and Sara Dwyer, both of James Island, and George Graf of Palmyra, Va.
