FEEDBACK: On bike lane, azaleas

Bike lane project cut one exit lane

To the editor:

00_icon_feedbackUnfortunately, what that video [of the Ashley River bike lane experiment] does not clearly illustrate is that the exit to Lockwood is down to one lane. Before this was in place, there were two lanes for exiting — those going to the hospitals and those of us going further downtown.

So now we have another merge situation — the one from Savannah Highway and Highway 61 is already disastrous and very dangerous — and more traffic backup for people trying to get to work.

I thought our new mayor said he was going to improve life in West Ashley and yet this ridiculous situation affects mostly the people in West Ashley trying to get to work.  It seems that the city is determined to bring traffic to a complete standstill, not just some days but every day.

Enjoyed the azalea photos

To the editor:

I enjoy your articles and pictures.  I believe a few of the azaleas are native azaleas that are native to S.C. and the Southeast.  If interested, check out the Azalea Society of America.  Thanks and keep the excellent work.
