MYSTERY: Big pig

Loyal reader Deborah Getter of John’s Island sends along this photo of an art pig taken somewhere in South Carolina, but where? Send your best guess to: editor@charlestoncurrents.com — and make sure to include the name of the town in which you live. First person to get it right (who hasn’t won in awhile) will get two tickets to see camellias at Magnolia Plantation and Gardens.

16.0111.mysteryLast week’s photo didn’t stump the Hat Lady, Archie Burkel of James Island. She writes, “It is the pier at the end of what I think is part of “The Greenway.”  Whatever it is called, this particular stretch of the bicycle/walking path entered once you cross Highway 61 dead ends at the Ashley River…and there sits this wonderful pier. … It’s kind of a well kept secret…so don’t tell anyone ;>).”

While intrepid guesser Chris Brooks of Mount Pleasant didn’t err by guessing “Ashley River,” we’ll let him off the hook for being less specific than usual. Meanwhile, Karon Emmons of West Ashley was precise: “The floating dock is at the end of the West Ashley Bikeway in Maryville. Beautiful spot!” Marnie Huger of Richmond, Va., also correctly identified the photo by West Ashley’s Kristina Wheeler.
