You probably recognize this 1950s-era “green clay humanoid character” that is painted on the side of a building somewhere in downtown Charleston. If you’ve seen it and think you know where it is, drop us a line at editor@charlestoncurrents.com and be sure to include your contact information. More on Gumby.

Be specific about where this Mystery Photo was taken.

Last week’s mystery photo was of recycled milk jugs at Charleston County Environmental Management’s recycling center on Romney Street in Charleston. Hats off to eagle eyes who got the right answer: Charleston residents Joe Mendelsohn, Michael Kaynard and Maria M. Richardson, who writes “I’m a fanatic when it comes to recycling and composting and I have seen these items during my regular trips to the recycling center. Recycling is so important, but I wish we could reduce the amount of packaging.” Others who nailed the picture’s source were Amy Kosar, food resource manager at the Lowcountry Food Bank; Susan Breslin of Folly Beach; Deborah Getter of Johns Island; Christine von Kolnitz, MUSC’s recycling coordinator; Chris Brooks of Mount Pleasant; and Charles Boyd of Hanahan.
